St. Pius students give back for the holidays

Last Update: 11/20/2009 11:53 am
A group of Tulsa students are showing the true reason for the season Thursday morning.

The second grade class from St. Pius X are shopping for a family in need.

The students held a bake sale and raised $425. Now, they are using their hard earned cash to buy a family of seven Christmas presents.

With wish lists in hand, the students got to pick out gifts they might like for themselves.

"We're picking out warm clothes for the winter, warm jammies, and toys for the people that are poor," said student, Analiese Fent.

The students are getting a hands on experience while teachers hope they take the lesson to heart.

This is the third year St. Pius second graders have helped a needy family for the holidays.

Catholic Charities will bring all the goods to family.

Make sure "Making Work Pay" works for you
