North Tulsa man found dead in front of home

Last Update: 11/02 2:56 am
The area described by neighbors as calm and quiet, became busy with crime scene investigators Sunday afternoon.

Residents made several calls to 911 describing a man lying in the street in the 2600 block near Apache and North Sheridan bleeding, and in need of help.

But when police arrived it was too late.

Medical examiners pronounced the unidentified 47 year man dead.

"I saw something laying in the payment and it turned out to be one of our neighbors that has been here for a couple years now," said John Timmers.

Police would like to question the driver of box-shaped moving truck last seen near the victim's residence.

But neighbors say the same truck was spotted earlier that day as new residents were moving to the area.

"Further examination will need to be made to determine an exact cause of death. Our victim did have trauma to head and upper torso of his body," said Captain Karen Tipler with Tulsa Police.

Detectives continue questioning neighbors in hopes of piecing together a timeline for more clues.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 596-COPS
