There's a new healthcare option for un-insured Tulsans.
Morton Comprehensive Health Services celebrated the grand opening of their newest clinic in east Tulsa, Thursday morning.
The new clinic is located across the street from the old clinic at 11511 South 116th East Avenue. It provides three times the workspace.
Morton's primary customers don't have insurance and this satellite clinic is a way to bring healthcare to the people who need it.
"We're trying to keep people who don't have health insurance healthy, because we don't the cost gets driven into specialty care and hospitals," said Robert Sanders, the CEO of Morton Comprehensive Health Services.
The new clinic has been operational since September 1st. Already, the staff has seen 8% more patients in the new facility.
The main Morton facility (1334 N. Lansing Ave) provides almost every healthcare need from optical to dental to pediatrics.
There are three satellite clinic including the new one in east Tulsa. There is one attached to the Salvation Army in downtown and one in Nowata.
The east Tulsa clinic will eventually provide dental and woman's health services.
