Plans are underway to build Oklahoma's largest Armed Forces Reserve Center in Green Country.

The nearly 100 acres of land is undeveloped right now; it's near the corner of 101st Street and 257th East Avenue in Broken Arrow.

The military hopes to move into the building by October of 2010, otherwise it loses funding.

There's still work to be done at the local level before construction can begin and several jurisdictions are working together to get the $67-million project started.

"Rural Water District 4 has the water and the sanitary sewer and then the county, the City of Coweta and the City of Broken Arrow have the roadway," said Michael Skates with the City of Broken Arrow.

Once the military moves out of the old armory in Broken Brrow it will donate the building to the city.

Officials plan to turn it into a headquarters for police and fire.
