Whether you're hearing it on the radio or seeing it in the stores. The holiday season is here already.
A recent economic study shows many states, including Oklahoma, are expecting to see a slump in sales.
According to one economic forecast, holiday sales could drop by almost 2% compared to last year.
As employees all over Green Country fluff up the Christmas trees and roll out the wrapping paper. They are planning for ways to make this a successful shopping season.
Target managers at the Tulsa Hills location, say they prepare all year long for the holiday season. They started switching the merchandise the day after Halloween.
At Target, managers say they already have some plans in place to lure more customers through their doors.
First, they are unveiling a price matching policy they haven't had in years past.
Also, the store will be opening an hour earlier than ever on a black Friday (5 A.M. as opposed to 6 A.M.) to give customers as much shopping time as possible.
Managers say tough economic times are always on their mind, but it's not something they are expecting this holiday season.
"We're just ready for the biggest thing, if we plan that's gonna be down, chances are it will be, or we won't be ready if it is more and we want to be ready for the biggest turn-out possible," said manager Laura Pinkerton.
Pinkerton says their sales have remained steady, despite the economic crunch.
