George Flickinger chases Wednesday's storm

Last Update: 11/07/2008 5:05 pm
Strong storms hit Oklahoma on Wednesday night, and 2NEWS Meteorologist George Flickinger saw the damage those storms caused.

George drove Storm Chaser 2 to central Oklahoma, near Guthrie and Edmond. He encountered a lot of hail, some pieces were larger than golf balls. So much hail hit parts of central and northern Oklahoma that it looked as though snow had fallen.

Wednesday's storms were part of a powerful system that moved through the nation's mid-section. Winds gusting to 60 mph and greater also were reported in those areas of the state.
