Eighteen of the twenty-one laid-off Tulsa Police officers are back to work and the remaining three are getting job offers.
But, that's not the only thing coming their way.
"The whole reason I got involved in the auxiliary was to be apart of this big brotherhood," Erin Barnes now serves as vice president of the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary.
It's a group for family members of officers.
"If somebody gets sick, if somebody has surgery the auxiliary takes dinners to people that are in need," Barnes says the officers in need are now unemployed.
The auxiliary went into action as soon as word came about layoffs.
Barnes says the "TPD 21" campaign was created; posters and t-shirts are now being sold to raise money for the officers.
A week after the campaign started eighteen of the officers were rehired; three are still without a job.
"The one thing they shouldn't be worrying about right now is money," Capt. Travis Yates says Ten Four Ministries and the police union set-up funds at the FOP Credit Union.
They are all efforts to get the officers through to a new job."
At the end of the day, there are still hardship still when you terminated from one job and start another job.
There's a delay in payment for these are young officers," Capt. Yates said.
