The former head of Expo Square is suing his old employer. On Tuesday, Rick Bjorklund filed a lawsuit against the Tulsa County Fair Board. He is also suing County Commissioner Randi Miller individually.

The lawsuit claims the fair board breached his contract when it fired Bjorklund for his handling of Big Splash Water Park. Big Splash owed rent for 2007, and a 2006 rent check was not cashed for nearly a year. Big Splash has since paid all rent.

Bjorklund claims County Commissioner Randi Miller instructed him to keep Big Splash "off the radar screen."

The lawsuit also states that Miller made "false and defamatory statements" about Bjorklund. In the past, Miller has denied any wrongdoing. She has not yet commented on the lawsuit.

The fair board released a letter stating it fired Bjorklund for violating his contract. Bjorklund's lawsuit seeks compensation greater than $75,000.
