The WNBA announced on Tuesday that the Detroit Shock will relocate to Tulsa.
The team will be owned by a group of investors led by Oklahoma businessmen Bill Cameron and David Box. The sale and move are pending the approval of the WNBA Board of Governors.
Nolan Richardson will become the team’s general manager and head coach. He's the former head coach of the men’s basketball teams at the University of Arkansas and the University of Tulsa.
In Detroit, the Shock appeared in four WNBA Finals, winning three championships.
