Tulsa street repair is projected to begin next summer.
Tuesday voters overwhelmingly approved both road propositions. The city will now have $451-million to fix Tulsa streets.
Wednesday Public Works officials began prioritizing the street repair plan.
"It's an analysis of traffic patterns and economic development impact and really making sure traffic can still move as smoothly as possible." says Mayor Kathy Taylor.
The project includes 340 lane miles of streets, both residential and arterial, along with 17 bridges.
Mayor Taylor says the city's finance department has begun work on preparing the bonds.
The goal is to have the bonds ready to sell the beginning of the next fiscal year, July 1st, 2009.
"We need to show the citizens we can do the job right and if don't, not going to trust us with more money to get the streets fixed further down the road." says Tulsa City Councilor G.T. Bynum.
Bynum says the city council is dedicated to keeping the five year plan on track.
According to Mayor Taylor the citizens will see substantial changes within the next 3 years.
