A downtown hotel gets a facelift

Last Update: 9/18/2008 8:50 am
One downtown hotel just got a $24 million face-lift. The downtown Crowne Plaza renovation is complete.

It's been two years in the making, and now all the renovations are complete.

Hotel staff say there isn't a single surface of the hotel that hasn't been revamped or installed completely new since the renovations started. The 30 year old hotel has upgraded its rooms, ballrooms, restaurants and lobby areas.

The renovation construction was scheduled to match up with the completion of the BOK Center downtown.

Hotel officials say the huge investment is worth it because downtown Tulsa has a lot of potential.

"With everything down that's on the books and what we're looking at down the road here there is nothing but up to go here, with the BOK Center and hopefully now with the baseball stadium coming on board and new things coming downtown we're just very excited about the future of downtown Tulsa. We wouldn't have spent 24 million dollars if we weren't excited about it," said general manager, Marlin Keranen.

Hotel officials say they've already seen an increase in reservations on nights when the BOK Center is open.
