3 year old Kyra Zubah died at a Tulsa hospital on Tuesday.
Investigators believe her death was a homicide.

The Okmulgee County Sheriff's office says the little girl lived in Okmulgee.
Those who knew her say she was living with a foster family.

2 former daycare teachers, say Kyra's short life was a tough one.  2NEWS Reporter Beth Burnett tells her story through their eyes.

Those who knew her say Kyra always had a smile, one they won't see again.  They hope her death prompts change.

"My heart just sunk, you freeze.  I do have a 3 year old child and I can
not imagine," said Misty DeLay, former employee at an Edmond daycare.

DeLay spent countless hours with Kyra Zubah at the daycare.  Memories are all she has now.

"She never wanted to take a nap, that was one (memory) so I got a lot of
cuddle time with her," said DeLay.

She says that Kyra came to her with a fresh start, taken from her birth parents, and in a foster home.

Delay didn't know all the confidential details about the care she was getting, but knows Kyra was moved again.  Now, she's dealing with news that she's passed away.

"It was back in July was her last day at the daycare and she ran up to
her teacher and gave her a big hug, and said I love you, i'll see you
tomorrow," DeLay said.

Investigators are interviewing a woman who lives in the Okmulgee home where Kyra lived.
The medical examiner reports she suffered blunt force trauma to the head.

"She loved everybody at the daycare and we loved her," said Stephanie Wilson, former daycare employee.

In the meantime, those who knew her hope her story brings change.

"We are their only hope and help to survive in this world," Wilson said.

"I hope she is dancing, dancing with Jesus," Delay said.

2NEWS called state DHS and Muscogee Creek Indian Nation DHS for comment on Kyra's affiliation with either group.  Those who answered only said no comment.  2NEWS will continue to follow any new developments in this case.

Make sure "Making Work Pay" works for you
Most workers noticed the small increase in their take home pay last year, because of what's called the Making Work Pay Tax Credit. The tax withheld each pay period was reduced. And now that it's time to file your 2009 tax return, you need to pay special attention to that tax credit.
