If you drive Green Country highways, then you likely deal with detours.
There are updates on 2 major Oklahoma Department of Transportation Projects.
The first is at I-44 and 193rd East Avenue in Catoosa. Crews plan to open up a diversion lane there around 7 o'clock Tuesday night.
The second is at Tulsa's Inner Dispersal Loop project, which surrounds downtown Tulsa.
Concrete on 2 bridge decks is poured.
ODOT Leaders gave 2NEWS a behind the scenes look at one of the longest bridges in the IDL project. They have it paved and it took about 160 cement trucks to do so.
Crews are smoothing the surface on 2 of the 44 bridge decks that will be replaced as part of the $67-million IDL improvement project.
"It is a lot of work going into just this one bridge," said ODOT Spokesperson Kenna Mitchell.
Each bridge deck, and the stretches of road in-between, will be torn out and replaced as part of the largest single bid ODOT has ever awarded.
"We are about 25% done over all on the IDL project, and certainly this is a good sign that things are moving ahead and on schedule," Mitchell said.
In Catoosa, the $44-million project at I-44 and 193rd East Avenue is progressing as well.
Crews will open a diversion road Tuesday night that will merge eastbound 1-44 traffic onto highway 66 for a bit for construction on the new bridge there.
"We really urge traffic to drive cautiously and do the speed limit because its going to be different for a little while until everyone gets used to it," said ODOT Project Manager Joe Frederick.
"I hate the construction," said driver Anne Hopper
Drivers look forward to the end product.
"Better roads will be better for your car, it won't tear it up as much," Hopper said.
