TULSA -- Police are investigating after a woman was shot twice in the chest in north Tulsa while delivering newspapers.

The shooting happened at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

The woman told police she saw three men standing in the roadway while she was delivering newspapers in her vehicle in the 1500 block of East 51st Street North when she was hit by gunfire. Police believe it was a "random" shooting.

The victim has non life-threatening injuries, police said. Approximately nine bullet holes were found on the victim's vehicle and 59 shell casings were found in the area.

A neighbor said he heard the gunshots.

"Gunshots out north are normal, so we don't worry about it," said Mingo Scott. "We just go to sleep. As long as I'm in my house, I'm OK."

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
