TULSA -- A woman died this morning after she was struck by a semi while walking on a highway.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the woman, Suzanne Goldsmith, 55, was walking westbound on Interstate 244 at Highway 169 when the truck hit her early Thursday morning.

The truck driver, Randal Barker, 60, was carrying molasses from Nowata to Stillwater. Troopers say he will not be cited for the accident.

Investigators and emergency crews briefly closed the road, but it is now back open.

We have a crew on the scene gathering information and will update this story as details emerge.
