Police: Neighbor suspected of shooting woman 5 times and shooting woman's dog after dispute

TULSA - Police are searching for a man who allegedly shot his neighbor and her dog Friday morning.

The victim's brother-in-law, Darnell Powell, lives next door to the victim, who was shot at least five times in the torso and leg, but she is expected to recover.

Officers responded to the call near East 52 Place North and Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard around 3 a.m.

Police believe the neighbors were fighting over the woman’s dog, who survived being shot and was picked up by Animal Control.

Police say the victim had a protective order filed against Powell and officers have been called to this residence in the past with complaints of dogs being shot.

Powell was last seen driving a gray Nissan Altima.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
