A 12-year-old boy was killed Friday night when he was struck by what Wagoner police officers say was a DUI driver.
Wagoner Police Chief Bob Haley said the victim was riding bikes with his brother on North Story Avenue headed toward Ninth Street around 11 p.m., when he was hit by an SUV.
The boy was pronounced dead at Wagoner Community Hospital.
The driver -- Richard Ray Roth, 34, of Wagoner -- originally left the scene, but later returned, Haley said.
Roth was arrested and faces charges of manslaughter, DUI and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
"He was taken to the hospital, and we found alcohol in his system," Haley said.
Haley said Roth will be transported to Wagoner County.
The victim's name has not been released.
