TULSA - Tulsa police are again welcoming those in the community affected by violent crime to take part in the decoration of Christmas trees in south Tulsa.
Victims and survivors are invited to place an ornament on the Christmas Trees of Honor at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the Buddy LaFortune Community Center on Hudson Avenue.
"The Christmas holidays often are especially difficult for those who have lost a loved one or survived the trauma of violent crime," said Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris. "We acknowledge their pain and loss and honor their loved ones."
The trees will be on display at the community center throughout the holidays. Ornaments left in previous years will also be hung.
Those unable to attend may mail an ornament to Trees of Honor, c/o Tulsa County District Attorney, 500 S. Denver Ave., Tulsa, OK 74103.
