Union's McAuliffe Elementary librarian Kirby Thomas will say 'I do' on iconic Cain's Ballroom stage

TULSA - Our favorite librarian is setting the stage for her wedding venue, and like all her other wedding details she has chosen a unique location.

When we first introduced you to Kirby Thomas , Union Public Schools librarian, she was surprised by Ellen DeGeneres with a check for $25,000 and a mobile book van.  Since then, Kirby has visited Ellen's show several times, including one appearance that ended with her engagement.

Now months later, Kirby and her fiance, Jason, are planning to say their vows on a stage where some of the best voices in the music industry have performed -- at Cain's Ballroom .

A fixture in the music scene since the 1920s, Cain's is known across the country as the Home of Bob Wills.

Now brides and grooms are using the iconic location to say "I do."

Kirby and Jason are frequent concert-goers.  In fact, a concert at Cain's is one of the first times they ever spent time together.

"Since it is Cain's and since it is such a cool Tulsa staple, we want all our family and friends to be able to say that they performed on the Cain's stage," said Kirby.  "So we wanted to make sure and provide them with that opportunity ... so we're going to do karaoke on the stage and everyone will get their 15 minutes of fame on the Cain's stage."
