TULSA - One of Green Country's largest school districts gets pumped up for the new year with the annual kick-off celebration which took place Friday at Union Public Schools.
Superintendent Kirt Hartzler says the celebration is a way to get staff excited about returning to class.
"Our success is a testament to the teachers. As a superintendent, I lead the district in terms of title but the real work is in the classroom in our supportservices, finances divisions, making sure that we're really just being great stewards of our taxpayers resources,” said Dr. Kirt Hartzler, Union Public Schools.
The school district also honored its teacher of the year and reviewed the past year's accomplishments.
Students go back to school next Wednesday.
