TULSA - The Tulsa Shock is partnering with the Tulsa County Parks Department and Park Friends, Inc. to raise funds for the LaFortune Park Tennis Center.
Proceeds from the Tulsa Shock Sept. 8 game against the Seattle Storm go toward improvements at the Tennis Center, located at 51st and Hudson Avenue.
The event is sponsored by the United States Tennis Association.
"We as a sports organization are always seeking new opportunities to promote physical fitness and are proud of our partnership with the Tulsa County Parks Department," President Steve Swetoha said. "The parks system in this county does a fantastic job promoting fitness in this community and we are excited to be involved in their fund raising efforts."
The Shock is selling a $25 adult and a $15 child package that include game tickets and access to a pre-game reception with food and drinks.
Five dollars from each ticket purchase will be donated back to the LaFortune Park Tennis Center Project.
The project aims to build the first public indoor courts in Tulsa and replace the existing pro shop.
The game starts at 7 p.m. at the BOK Center.
