Hundreds of volunteers are getting ready for this year's Tulsa Linde Oktoberfest, which kicks off on Thursday.

Nikki Brewer, who has been volunteering since she was a little girl, says it takes months to put together the decorations and making sure everything runs smoothly on the four-day festival.

This year the festival is celebrating 40 years of bringing Bavarian traditions, food and culture to Tulsa. There will be beer of course and live entertainment with real German bands. Also, there will be carnival rides for kids and adults alike.

The event takes place at River West Festival Park. It's free admission on Friday until 4 p.m.
