Tulsa police search for suspect who sexually assaulted teen at home

TULSA - Detectives are searching for the suspect in a recent sexual assault and they're asking for help identifying him.

Around 1 p.m. Sept. 21, a 17-year-old female was home alone near 51st and 33rd West Avenue.

Police say the victim's dog was barking at the back door and the victim, thinking the dog wanted out, opened the door. Police say the suspect was in the back yard waiting to ambush her.

The suspect punched the victim in the face, knocking her backward into the kitchen.

Police say the suspect continued to attack the victim, knocking her to the floor and striking her repeatedly.

The victim rolled over onto her stomach in an attempt to escape, but the suspect struck her repeatedly in the back of the head with drinking glasses until she fell unconscious.

Police say the victim woke up with her clothing ripped and torn and the suspect gone. They believe she was sexually assaulted by the man, whom the victim did not recognize.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 20s to 30s, around 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and skinny, with sunken cheeks, short dark balding hair and a "5 o'clock shadow."

The victim told police the suspect smelled of baby powder.

He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up and dark pants.
