One victim dies in triple shooting, suspects are arrested

TULSA - One of the three victims hospitalized after an early morning shooting Monday has died.

Twenty-five-year-old Shametra Fields was on life support after getting shot twice in the back of the head. She was considered brain dead.

Family members say her head was swollen beyond recognition. They say Fields was an innocent victim walking to the store to get milk. She witnessed the crime and was chased down then shot. Fields is a mother of two girls, ages 4 and 7 years old.

The two other victims, 22-year-old Everett L. Adkins and  25-year-old Makala F. White, remain in the hospital. They're in critical condition.

Officers were called to 63rd and Owasso around 1:30 a.m. Monday in reference to a shooting.

On Tuesday, Tulsa police arrested Everett Wilson, 21, and Ronnie Jones, 22. Each now face a count of murder, two counts of shooting with intent to kill and one count of robbery.

According to the police report, Wilson and Jones kicked in the door of an apartment near 1200 E. 63rd St. Police say the duo stole $6,000 and drugs. Jones then held the occupants at gunpoint and shot Adkins in the chest with a .45 caliber handgun, according to the report.

All the occupants in the apartment fled and Jones began shooting outside. Police say that's when he came into contact with Fields, shooting her in the street.
