Tulsa Police Department veterans identified as officers involved in deadly shooting

TULSA - Tulsa police have identified the four officers involved in a shooting Thursday that left a wanted suspect dead.

Forty-four-year-old Donald Hallet was shot and killed near 10th and Birmingham early Thursday morning after police say he aimed a gun them.

Police had searched for Hallet for more than a week after he was named a suspect in a shooting Monday, Nov. 19 at a north Tulsa motel.

Police say Hallet is a known drug dealer and was holding the gun that shot 25-year-old Lucas Knight , who is still a patient at a Tulsa hospital.

Working on tips about Hallet's movements, officers set up surveillance near 10th and Birmingham, and when they saw him they say Hallet had a shotgun strapped to his back.

Hallet initially ran from officers but when they caught up to him he pointed the gun so they fired.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tulsa police say Corporal Matthew Hart, Officer Eric Spradlin, Officer David Brice and Officer Christopher O'Keefe were all involved in the shooting.  All four have been employed with the department for more than a decade.

They were placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Hallet's was the eighth officer-involved shooting, according to TPD officials.
