TULSA - Tulsa police are warning drivers to watch their speed in construction zones.
Officers will be patrolling zones near Highway 169 and the Broken Arrow Expressway interchange, starting on Monday through the rest of the month.
Tickets for speeding in construction zones can range from $150 to $500, with a possibility of spending 10 days in jail.
Police say there were 13 deaths in construction zone collisions last year, including 2 construction workers.
In 2012, 789 people were injured in 1,427 collisions in construction zones in Oklahoma.
Officers say they will not be issuing any warnings.
