TULSA - A Tulsa man is behind bars after returning to the scene where police say he already committed a burglary.
Thomas Peppers was booked into the Tulsa County Jail Friday morning on two complaints of first-degree burglary.
According to his arrest report, officers responded to a home near 56th and Yorktown where a resident reported someone broke into and stole items from their attached garage.
Police say the suspect returned around 4:30 a.m. and entered the garage using a key that was stolen during the first burglary. He allegedly loaded a car with steaks and frozen food items and put a stolen car key in the ignition of a car, turning the key.
According to the report, an officer had already removed the battery cable to avoid an auto theft.
Peppers was located in the garage by a canine officer and the residents identified Peppers as the suspect.
Peppers' bond is $40,000. According to jail records, he's due in court Aug. 2.
