Tulsa businesses 'Go Red' for heart disease awareness

TULSA - Friday marks the 10th anniversary of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign.

Go Red's goal is to raise awareness about heart disease, the number one killer of women.

Since the beginning of the campaign awareness has increased and deaths from the disease have decreased.

In Tulsa, Saint Francis Heart Hospital volunteers are participating in the campaign by washing windshields at Krispy Kreme near 71st and Highway 169.

Volunteers will be out until 11 a.m. cleaning the windows of every car in the drive-through.

All donations will be given to the American Heart Association.

Several Broken Arrow Businesses are also joining the effort to raise awareness about heart disease.

On the Corner Boutique and Main Street Tavern have both painted their windows red and will be selling red hearts to raise money on the cause.
