TULSA – Three children were rescued from a home that more than 30 pets had, police say, “taken over.”

Stacy Basden was arrested on three counts of child neglect after an animal hoarding situation led to the four of them, Basden and the children, living in a shed behind the house.

Tulsa police say they found 28 dogs and around the same amount of cats living in the home. In addition, police say, several dead animals were littered on the floor of the shed where the children were living.

Basden told police that she had been dealing with the hoarding situation for around two to three months.
