TULSA - A 19-year-old Tulsa woman is behind bars for child abuse, accused of attempting to suffocate her toddler.
Stormy Jones was arrested Tuesday evening at the Extended Stay Hotel near 41st and Memorial.
According to her arrest report, police responded to the hotel regarding a disturbance and found an intoxicated male in the lobby holding a child. Officers determined the disturbance originated in the room he shared with Jones and two children.
While investigating, police say they were approached by a bystander who was asked to check on the children -- a 2-year-old and a 5-month-old, and while doing so the "Good Samaritan" told police she observed Jones holding a pillow over the toddler's face, yelling "shut the f--- up."
Police say the bystander intervened, lifting the pillow off the child's face and finding it red.
After Jones was taken into custody, police say she admitted she'd been drinking but denied putting the pillow over his face.
Jones was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on $50,000 bond. Jail records indicate she's due in court April 23.
