TULSA - An Owasso man is in the Tulsa County jail after a man in the hospital told police he had been assaulted with a machete.
Tulsa County deputies say the victim, who was in the hospital, told them he had been at a friend's home near 96th Street North and Garnett when they began to argue.
The victim said his friend, 19-year-old Devin Buck, picked up a machete and hit him in the back of the head, on the right cheek and in the left shoulder.
The man said he left the scene after the assault.
Investigators found Buck at his home and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon and an outstanding warrant for possession of a methamphetamine.
Buck told police he hit the victim two or three times with the machete instead of calling police because he had been taught to "handle his own business."
Buck is being held on $25,300 bond.
