Two passengers injured in Tahlequah accident; driver believed to be drinking, taken into custody

TAHLEQUAH -- Two people are recovering after a two vehicle accident on Highway 62 in Tahlequah.

Witnesses say they saw a white SUV swerving before it hit the other vehicle, carrying five people, head on Friday around 5:30 p.m.

That driver, Bradley Peak, was taken away into custody by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Investigators say he had been drinking.

One male was LifeFlighted to St. Francis Hospital with head and leg injuries. A female was also admitted to St. Francis with leg and back injuries. Both are in stable condition.  

Traffic was backed up for a while on the highway, but all lanes opened shortly after.
