TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - A Tahlequah man remains hospitalized after officers say he was stabbed 14 times by his roommate during Thursday's early morning hours.
Tahlequah police were called to a home in the 600 block of E. Cherry Street just before 1 a.m. and, upon arrival, found a man "lying on the ground, in blood, with multiple stab wounds to his back, sternum and leg."
Witnesses claimed Anthony Sims, 19, had stabbed his roommate after he reportedly called the victim's girlfriend a bad mother, according to Sims' booking report.
The victim, still conscious, also said Sims had stabbed him repeatedly. Later evaluation revealed he had 14 separate wounds from the fight. Another man who reportedly broke up the fight also suffered two cuts to the leg.
Both men were taken to a local hospital, while Sims was arrested and booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center. He is expected to be charged with two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
