TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Kawi Café in downtown Tahlequah has been offering entrepreneurial training, courtesy of the Cherokee Nation.
Johnny Smith spent much of his life working in kitchens and jumped at the chance to learn the ins and outs of running his own business.
After four months, the trainees graduate and hope they have gained skills as strong as the coffee they have made.
“The managerial part and the inventory with the computers are a little challenging for me,” said Smith.
So far the training has been beneficial for Smith, he said he hopes to serve much more someday.
