Fire at mobile home near Tahlequah claims 4 lives; cause under investigation

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Okla. - Four people are dead after a mobile home fire near Tahlequah.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, it happened around 2 a.m. at the South Breeze Trailer Park in Park Hill, just south of Tahlequah.

After the fire was extinguished firefighters found the bodies inside along with several dogs that died during the fire.

Four other people managed to escape without injury.

According to the state fire marshal's office, there were no smoke detectors in the mobile home.

The victims were three adults and a 3-year-old boy.  Their names have not been released.

Investigators remain on scene working to determine the cause of the fire.
