Suspect in Target carjacking of elderly man in midtown Tulsa arrested after 2nd car theft

TULSA - Tulsa police believe they have the man implicated in the carjacking of an elderly man Tuesday afternoon in custody.

Authorities say 76-year-old A.J. Zinn was beaten in the parking lot of a midtown Tulsa Target as a man stole Zinn's blue Cadillac. A swarm of officers found the car dumped inside an apartment complex with no sign of the suspect later that evening.

That, police say, is because 35-year-old Brandon Patterson had already been arrested for stealing another car and leading officers on a chase shortly after leaving the apartment.

Patterson, of Tulsa, remains in jail on charges stemming from that incident, but TPD Robbery Sgt. Brandon Watkins said Wednesday those should soon expand to the Target carjacking.
