If dirt-flying action on four wheels is what you're after, get in on Monster Jam, the motorsport show packed with big trucks on big wheels in high-flying stunts at the BOK Center Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Count on plenty of fast, flying, car-crushing fun for all ages both days.
Expo square hosts its own motorsport event. The Tulsa Shootout revs up the micro race car engines for its final day of racing today. Gates are open now for races in all car categories. The Tulsa Shootout is a prelude to the popular midget sprint car race event, the Lucas oil chili bowl nationals, which begins Jan. 14 at Expo Square's River Spirit Expo.
Don't miss your chance to get in some outdoor ice skating. Arvest Winterfest, the outdoor holiday festival at the BOK Center, closes tomorrow. The month-long event, which opened after Thanksgiving, features the outdoor ice rink open from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. And if you still haven't taken the downtown horse and carriage ride, Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. is your last chance of the season.

Later in the week, the Tulsa Playboys band brings western swing back home to Cain’s Ballroom. Honoring that toe-tapping medley of jazz and country-western music made famous by bob wills and his Texas Playboys almost 70 years ago, the Tulsa playboys play favorites Friday night. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the show is for all ages.
