ADAIR, Okla. -- The National Weather service has confirmed two tornadoes that swept through Mayes County Tuesday night. The tornadoes were given a preliminary rating of EF-1.

The National Weather service determined early Wednesday afternoon that a tornado struck six miles west south west of Adair around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday night.

Later in the afternoon, the National Weather Service survey team evaluated a second EF-1 tornado path.

Several homes southwest of Adair saw downed trees and debris scattered over their properties.

One family north of Highway 28 said that two of its cows were injured in the tornado, and its shed's roof was blown off.
