State trooper attacked during arrest, suspect identified and booked in to jail

TULSA - A state trooper was attacked just after 2 a.m. Friday near 41st and South Sheridan when what started as a traffic stop ended in a fight. 

Police say the trooper pulled over a man who was driving in and out of the center lane.

After stopping the driver, 45-year-old Billy Miller, of Tulsa, police say the trooper noticed Miller was under the influence.  As Miller was being arrested a fight broke out.

Police say Miller hit the trooper on the head several times and it took two other troopers to get Miller down and in handcuffs.

Police tell 2NEWS drugs were found in Miller's car following the arrest.

The trooper was treated and released.  He has not been identified.

Miller was treated and booked into Tulsa County Jail for DUI, obstruction, resisting arrest, assault and battery on officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, improper lane use, no tax stamp and maintaining a vehicle where drugs are kept.
