At Monday night's District 4 Town Hall meeting, a group of midtown Tulsa residents reportedly spoke and called for City Councilor Blake Ewing's resignation, but things took a different turn.

One resident raised his hand and attempted to ask question, but Ewing cut him off in the middle saying the meeting was only a forum about questions regarding the city, not him personally.

Aaron Griffith is a longtime District 4 resident. He says he was attempting to ask Ewing if an ethics code should be added to Section 1.2 of the city charter. Griffith says he attempted to explain the question twice.

Ewing reportedly interrupted, however, and said, "Do you want to start over? You've had an hour and a half to get your thoughts together." Griffith and others say they planned on bringing up a call for Ewing's resignation, but he immediately ended the meeting.

"He failed to disclose his misconduct prior to the election and that voters went to the polls basically without all of the information," midtown resident Aaron Griffith said. "I think that he felt like this district supports him the way he claims it does then he could have been upfront and transparent and let people know he made a mistake."

Ewing made headlines when a $10,000 lawsuit was filed against him two weeks ago alleging fraudulent activity, but that's not all. In July, the Oklahoma Tax Commission temporarily shut down Ewing's restaurant, The Phoenix Cafe, for unpaid sales tax allegations.

We attempted to speak with Ewing after the meeting, but he left. We called and left a voicemail.

He replied via text and said, "Aaron has been doing this sort of thing for years. He's well known for this kind of thing. Nothing he does surprised me. Especially when it's targeted at me."
