TULSA - A 2-car crash Friday afternoon just north of Tulsa on U.S. Highway 75 resulted in one fatality and one person injured, said a state trooper.
Skiatook resident Margie F. Ward, 62, pinned in her vehicle for approximately 45 minutes was pronounced dead at the scene with massive injuries.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 3:43 p.m. just north of the 96th Street N. intersection.
The crash happened when Ward's northbound Ford sport-utility vehicle swerved left into the inside lane and struck a northbound Mercedes sedan, causing the sedan to go into the median. The sedan then swerved back onto the road striking the Ford, causing both vehicles to leave the roadway to right and the SUV to roll two-and-a-half times.
9-year-old Connor Ward, Ward's passenger, was transported by ambulance a Tulsa hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
The driver of the Mercedes, 32-year-old Thad Kent of Bartlesville, was uninjured.
