TULSA---The Tulsa Police Department made an arrest Friday that could help them solved a three-year-old murder case.

Police say 32-year-old Brennon Lovett confessed to committing multiple crimes including the murder or Wayne Bell.

TPD classifies Lovett as a serial shooter with intent to kill.

Bell was shot and killed in 2013 outside his home. Police never found his killer, but today detective say the suspect is in custody.

It all started just before noon Friday when police responded to a shots fired call near 3rd and Lewis.

An elderly man told police Lovett tried to lure him down an alley and shot at him, but missed.

Officers arrested the suspect nearby and say they found a gun on him.

When they took him in for questioning they say Lovett confessed to the 2013 murder along with five other shootings.

"There appears to be a possible gang implication on the actual homicide case, the five shooting with intent to kill cases from everything that I have seen are just random acts." Tulsa Police Corporal Nathan Schilling said.

One that shocked many people happened last year outside Woodland Hill Mall.

Officials say a 24-year-old man was taking his children to the mall play area after church. They say he'd just put his children, ages one and four in the back seat when a bullet went through the window and struck him in the neck.

Cpl. Schilling says it's very encouraging to connect and close all of these cases, ultimately making Tulsa safer.
