TULSA – A second arrest has been made in the death of a local hamburger store owner in west Tulsa.

Tulsa police arrested Clifford Owens, 22, in connection to the death of James Coulson who was the owner of Ted’s Hamburgers on 2906 W. Edison.

Owens was located 534 N. Osage Drive when he attempted to evade officers by jumping from a second story window and then fleeing on foot. Eventually Tulsa police were able to capture Owens near the Tisdale Expressway and arrest him for first degree murder and robbery.

Authorities previously arrested Alcon Sanders on January 6 in connection the death of Coulson.

Authorities believe the motive for the murder was robbery. Sanders is expected to face first degree murder and robbery related charges.

Coulson, 65, was found shot to death inside the restaurant in August of 2015. Investigators believe that Coulson was involved in an altercation with the suspects inside the restaurant.

Ted’s, located across the street from Central High School, has been a Tulsa staple since 1963.

Ted's customers say they're relieved one more person involved in this death is off the streets and that the Coulson family is closer to justice.

“Who would deserve death and a violent act when you've been a beautiful person all your life...serving people, making people happy,” said customer Trudy Estrada. “Crime doesn't pay and I hope he does a long, long time in prison.”

Police say they are still investigating and they believe a third possibly juvenile suspect is still on the loose.

Anyone with information on this murder is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918 596 2677 or the Homicide Tip Line at 918 798 8477
