A west Tulsa couple spent Wednesday remembering their daughter on what would be her 32nd birthday.
Dena Dean was murdered 16 years ago. Her parents, Larry and Diana Dean, welcomed family and friends into their home to honor their daughter.
"We have to remember her," Diana said. "We have to remember the good times and this is a way to do it and a way to keep her memory with us."
This marked the first year the Deans purchased a birthday cake since Dena's death. They also released balloons into the sky in her memory.
Dena was last seen in the Town West Shopping Center in Sapulpa.
Her case remains unsolved.
