SAPULPA, Okla. - One person died Friday afternoon and three others suffered injuries from a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 in Sapulpa.
The wreck occurred when a white Toyota Camry driving on Highway 97 near 71st Street swerved into oncoming traffic shortly before 4 p.m. Friday, according to Sapulpa Fire Chief Dannie Whitehouse.
The Camry collided with a blue Ford Taurus, sending it off the highway. Three people -- a man, woman and child -- were in the Taurus, Whitehouse said. The man, later identified as 35-year-old Jarrod Wolfe, was pronounced dead, while the two others were also reportedly taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, Whitehouse confirmed.
The Camry driver was also transported in stable condition.
Whitehouse said a driver following behind the Camry called 911 and reported seeing it weave across the road not long before the crash.
