A dog is recovering in a miraculous story of survival out of Sapulpa.
The dog was found in Sapulpa earlier in the week with a gunshot wound in her side.
She was taken in to Horizon Animal Hospital for surgery.
Veterinarians removed shrapnel from the wound and say she is doing well now. She's eating and taking antibiotics.
"It's sad,” said veterinarian Cari McDonald. “You don't want to find animals with gunshots. Her's are no means minor. Could have still caused internal damage. It just luckily grazed her."
When she arrived she had no name so vets at the animal hospital named her Hope, in the spirit of the holidays.
Once Hope is healthy and ready to go, she will be put up for adoption.
