KELLYVILLE, Okla. - A man is in custody after a deadly crash claimed the lives of four people late Friday night, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Kellyville police arrested 52-year-old David Ernst after he was treated and released from a local hospital.
Investigators say the pickup driven by Ernst, of Salina, was driving on State Highway 66 between Kellyville and Sapulpa around 9:30 p.m. Friday when it crossed the double center line and struck a car head on, killing all four people in the car.
Killed in the crash were 74-year-old Vernon Bowles, 74-year-old Susie Frazier, 51-year-old Vivian Henry and a 9-year-old child who has not been identified.
All the victims were residents of Kellyville.
Ernst is being held on four counts of first-degree manslaughter and one count of unsafe lane use, according to arrest records.
The roadway was closed for several hours while crews cleared the scene.
Creek County deputies, Kellyville police and the highway patrol all responded to the accident.
