SAND SPRINGS, Okla. - The Sand Springs toddler who drowned Tuesday in a private pool has been identified.
Police say Mia Teaff, 2, was home with her foster mother, Amber Alexander, when she slipped outside and entered the pool.
Alexander realized the toddler was missing and pulled her from the water to perform CPR. Teaff was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived.
Teaff's foster father is Sand Springs Sgt. Kyle Alexander, who was one of the responding officers Tuesday.
At the time of the incident, the Alexanders were fostering three children, including Teaff. The other two children, one of which was related to Teaff, have been removed from the home while Sand Springs police and DHS conduct an investigation.
All three children were placed in the Alexanders' care by DHS.
