SAND SPRINGS, Okla. - An Amber Alert has been canceled for a 6-year-old boy believed to have been taken by his father, who authorities suspect killed his mother -- the child's grandmother -- Tuesday night in Sand Springs.
Decklan Connor is safe with police after his father, Robert Connor III, was arrested at a Lewisville, Texas hotel.
Osage County sheriff's deputies say Robert Connor, 38, took the boy after shooting Deborah Connor and heading in an unknown direction in a 2004 tan or beige four-door Crown Victoria with Oklahoma tag number 197HNK.

Investigators tell 2NEWS Robert Connor went to his mom's house to talk about money and that's what led up to the shooting.
Detectives say Robert Connor's 10-year-old son, who was also in the home, ran next door to a neighbor's house to call 911. Investigators say that's when Robert Connor abducted Decklan.
Around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, hours after Texas authorities surrounded Robert Connor's room at the Lewisville Fairfield Inn, authorities took him into custody and Decklan was found unharmed. Police say tips led them to the hotel where they found Robert Connor's car in the parking lot.
Glenpool Public School officials tell 2NEWS Robert Connor taught for the district as recently as last year. He was signed to a temporary contract when a teacher retired and taught from November 2012 to May 2013.
