33 become US citizens in Sand Springs naturalization ceremony

SAND SPRINGS, Okla. - October 10.

Dozens of newly minted Americans will forever remember it as the day they became U.S. citizens.

Thirty-three immigrants took part in a naturalization ceremony at Angus Valley Elementary in Sand Springs Wednesday.

For many, the day concluded a long journey to citizenship.

"I have been waiting for 11 years to do this, and we have been fighting a lot for it," said Elizabeth Gilbert.

But one deemed worth the wait.

"My life is changing here," said Lucas Kraft Han, a new resident from China. "You can do whatever you want to do and become whatever you want to be."
